Developer Stream, Lockdown, and Beta Testing begins!
about 8 years ago – Wed, Jan 10, 2018 at 08:06:38 PM

Welcome to 2018 heroes! We hope everyone ended 2017 on a high note, we know we did. We’ve got all sorts of One Deck Dungeon things happening in the new year.

Dev Stream Today

Join Jenn at 1 pm Eastern this afternoon for another One Deck Dungeon dev stream. Today, she’ll be working on building out additional UI elements. Tune into our Twitch channel to watch live, or visit YouTube later on to catch the rebroadcast.

First Lockdown coming this Friday

We’ll be performing the first lockdown on BackerKit this Friday. This means that completed surveys will be locked and any add-ons will be charged to your credit cards. 95% of you have already filled out your surveys and that’s great! If you haven’t yet, try to do that soon. If you lost your survey email, just visit this page to recover it

The Pre-Order Store will remain open through the month of January if you know anyone who wanted to get in on the action but missed the Kickstarter.

Mobile Launch Window

Now that 95% of surveys are complete, we are confident giving the final mobile backer count at 595. That means that mobile players will only have to wait 5 days from the steam launch to play on their tablets!

Beta Testing Begins

Those of you who backed at a level which included membership on the beta team should have received an email yesterday with an invitation. We expect the first Digital One Deck Dungeon beta to enter testing this week. We’re really excited to get this process rolling to make One Deck Dungeon the best game it can be!

2017 is coming to a close and what a year it has been. Thanks to all of you for helping us end the year on a high note, and for helping set us up for a great 2018 with One Deck Dungeon! Here’s a few notes as we finish off the year.

Surveys Are Live

Last week, you should have received an email with instructions for your BackerKit survey. If you did not get it, you can access BackerKit directly here. You have plenty of time as we won’t be locking down surveys until some time in January.

Pre-Sales Are Live

Do you know someone who would love Digital One Deck Dungeon but missed out on the Kickstarter? Well good news everyone - just send them to the pre-order page on BackerKit and they can still participate!

Fanatic?

And speaking of pre-sales, there’s already been more than $1000 in additional add-ons and pre-sales since the store went live last week. Doing a little back-of-the-envelope math here, that looks to us to have kicked the total amount raised just over the 30k mark.

Prepare for a zealous offense!
Prepare for a zealous offense!

With that, we are officially closing the race for stretch goals. We’ve already confirmed that we’ll be making all the promos eventually, but we knew that many of you were really excited to get over this milestone. Welcome to the team, Fanatic!

Happy holidays from everyone at Handelabra, and here’s to an adventurous new year. We’ll see you in 2018!

Next Steps on the One Deck Dungeon Journey
over 8 years ago – Wed, Dec 06, 2017 at 11:26:40 PM

The campaign has ended, but the journey has just begun. Within the next week or so, we expect to have BackerKit surveys out which will allow you to add any add-ons as well as finalize your pledges. Now that funding has closed, what’s next for Digital One Deck Dungeon?

Development

As you saw during the campaign if you watched our live streams, development has not only begun, but is continuing at a rapid pace! Given the feedback from those live streams, we’ve decided to continue giving everyone a peek behind the curtain, starting today. At 1 pm Eastern this afternoon, join Jean-Marc in the code mines once again to see more engine programming for One Deck Dungeon. Watch live on our Twitch channel, or catch the rebroadcast later on YouTube.

As we’ve said elsewhere, the next step is to get the game into beta testing as soon as possible. If you pledged at the Dungeon Engineer level, we’ll be in touch with instructions regarding how to get set up in the beta program once it begins. For everyone else, look forward to the early access release some time early next year, and the retail and tablet releases after that. We’ll keep you posted on timelines as development continues.

Mobile

After the first few days of the campaign, there was a ton of feedback that you wanted to play One Deck Dungeon on your tablets. Based on the volume of feedback, we made the decision that, if we succeeded in funding the Steam version of the game, we would also commit to releasing on tablets. As a result, we also decided to do an experiment to see just how many people were willing to pledge a dollar to get that version quicker. We didn’t really know what to expect, but we’ve been very pleased with the response.

As of the close of funding, there are 470 mobile backers. This translates into roughly 20 days worth of pledges meaning One Deck Dungeon for tablets will be released 10 days after it is released on Steam. There is still the opportunity for this to get even shorter once BackerKit surveys go out. This number comes from us tallying up all the $1 add-ons just by looking at the pledge amounts. Once all backers are able to allocate their pledges to the specific add-ons they want, we'll get a final number and will keep you posted.

Thanks again for all your support, we can’t wait to get Digital One Deck Dungeon out to you in 2018!

You Did It - Thank You!
over 8 years ago – Sat, Dec 02, 2017 at 12:11:15 AM

Final numbers: $29,401 raised from 1728 dungeon crawlers.

Stay tuned next week for next steps. In the meantime, everyone have a great weekend, and thank you!

There's just a few short hours remaining and with all the activity in the last 48 hours, we are so close to unlocking Fanatic! Thursday was actually the second best day of the entire campaign. Let's finish strong and give this Prime Warden what she's always wanted: another opportunity to vanquish evil!
